We are proud to launch our new project Children Act to Prevent Violence. This initiative is part of a broader European effort led by Eurochild, supported by the European Commission through the CERV DAPHNE, CHILD programme, and implemented in partnership with Terre des Hommes.
From May 2025 to October 2026, the project will engage over 220 children and young people aged 13 to 18, including Roma children, children from low-income families, children with developmental challenges, and LGBTQI youth. With the support of our organization and local civil society partners, they will learn how to recognize different forms of violence, how to respond, and how to mobilize their communities for change.
They will co-create recommendations, launch campaigns, and train their peers to work together toward building safer environments. At the same time, we will strengthen the capacities of 10 grassroots organizations working with children, enabling them to support child participation and violence prevention in the long term.
The project uses a peer-to-peer education approach and places children at the center, not as passive observers, but as active participants. Through workshops, advocacy campaigns, educational content, and digital tools, we will open up conversations about violence in spaces where it is often overlooked, denied, or simply lacks the language to be named.
Project duration: 18 months, from May 2025 to October 2026
